Welcome to Mentally Fit With Ellin: Where High Achievers Come to Train Their Minds

Hello!

I’m Ellin, founder of Mentally Fit With Ellin. I created this space for ambitious, high-achieving people who work hard, hold it together, and still know they want more. People who are ready to prioritize their mental fitness, not just their external success.

Here, we believe fitness goes beyond lifting weights and pushing physical limits. True fitness is training your mind the way you train your body. Building resilience. Building grit. Building the capacity to handle life when it throws curveballs.

Because it will.

Life will challenge you. Pressure will show up. Expectations will feel heavy. And how you respond to those moments is everything. Those moments are not setbacks. They are opportunities to level up.

This blog is your resource for mastering the mental reps required to thrive. To feel stronger internally. To create more balance. To build a life that feels fulfilling, not just impressive.

What is Mentally Fit With Ellin?

I created Mentally Fit With Ellin for high-achievers who are constantly in motion but don’t know how to slow down. The ones who look composed, disciplined, and successful on the outside, yet feel stretched thin on the inside.

Professionals building careers. Entrepreneurs growing businesses. Young adults navigating dating, relationships, and identity. Athletes chasing performance. Leaders carrying responsibility.

They handle pressure at work. They manage expectations at home. They hold themselves to a high standard in everything they do.

Even when they’re exhausted, they still show up.

They don’t lack motivation.

They don’t lack discipline.

They don’t lack drive.

They need support that matches their ambition.

They value health. They care about growth. They want to feel strong mentally and physically, not just productive.

They just need the right tools to build resilience, regulate pressure, and perform at a high level without burning out.

Why I Created Mentally Fit With Ellin

Growing up, life often felt like an uphill battle.

I struggled with dyslexia and a language-based learning disability that made reading, writing, and traditional learning incredibly difficult. I constantly felt behind my peers— different, overwhelmed, and misunderstood.

No matter how hard I worked or how many hours I studied, I still failed.

It felt like I was running a race I could never win. The classroom wasn’t just challenging; it was a place where my confidence was stripped away, piece by piece.

Throwback to my big hair, big dreams, and my American Girl Doll squad!

On top of that, I battled low self-esteem, anxiety, and perfectionism.

I felt like I had to work twice as hard just to keep up, just to be seen. Everyone around me seemed to have tools I didn’t, and I spent so much of my childhood questioning my worth and abilities.

When I got to the University of Hartford, everything shifted.

For the first time, I found an environment that worked for me both socially and academically. I was finally learning in a way that made sense for my brain, and for the first time, I felt like I belonged.

Sports had always been my escape.

Growing up, I played soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and I figure-skated. On the field, rink, or court, I felt seen. I even became captain of my soccer team, which gave me the confidence I couldn’t find anywhere else.

Throwing it back to my days as soccer captain, where I held down center defense with my strong kicks and throw-ins, learning leadership, resilience, and teamwork along the way.

When I stopped playing sports in college, I felt like I lost my edge. Competition had always fueled me. Without it, I felt untethered.

That’s when I found CrossFit. And yes, I drank the Kool-Aid. If you know, you know.

In a small garage gym, lifting alongside men and pushing past limits I once doubted, something shifted. It started as an escape. A way to move my body and clear my head.

But it became a proving ground.

CrossFit taught me discipline. Resilience. How to show up on days I didn’t feel like it.

It taught me to sit in discomfort. To chase progress over perfection. To earn confidence through effort.

What surprised me most was this: the biggest gains weren’t physical. They were mental.

I realized you can train your mind the same way you train your muscles. With reps. With intention. With consistency.

That shift changed everything.

I went to grad school. Started my own practice. Learned to see my dyslexia as a strength, not a flaw. Mentally Fit With Ellin was built from that realization.

My mission is simple: to help ambitious people build strength mentally and physically so they can feel capable, confident, and grounded in who they are.

Because no matter where you start, you can train your mind to work for you, not against you.
